Trouble Logging In?

1. Confirm that your username and password are correct.
   If necessary, click on the username and password reminder link to have your information sent to you immediately.

1. Enter the e-mail address that you signed up with.
2. An e-mail containing your Username and Password will be sent to you. Please be patient: it may take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours to arrive. The subject of the email is 'New York Cares Password Reminder' and the e-mail will be from 'info@newyorkcares.org'.

• The spam filter on your email account may automatically route e-mails sent from New York Cares to your junk or bulk mail folder or even delete them. Please configure your e-mail account to allow you to receive messages from info@newyorkcares.org.

2. Create a username and password
   If you have not created a username and password, you will need to create a username and password.

3. Internet Browsers
   Our web site has been tested and works best with the following Web Browsers:

1. Windows
• Internet Explorer 5.5 and above.
• Firefox 1.0 and above.
2. Macintosh
• Safari 1.1 and above.
• Firefox 1.0 and above.

4. Internet Browsers and Cookies
   If you are using the correct Username and Password and either receive a login error or are taken to the same pages without being logged in, there may be a problem with the security settings in your web browser.

   Some web sites store information in a small text file, called a cookie, on your hard disk. Newer versions of browsers are defaulted not to accept cookies. Cookie settings may need to be adjusted in order to use our website.

   If you are using a computer at work, or are behind a company firewall, it is possible that you may not be permitted to change these settings. Additionally, you may have installed a third party program that overrides your web browser's cookie handling settings. Please disable the program or verify that you have changed your cookie handling settings within this program as well.

• Click the Privacy tab
• Click Sites button
• Type in newyorkcares.org and click Allow
• Click OK

2. How to adjust cookie settings for Firefox 1.5 (Windows)

• Click Privacy tab
• Click the Cookie sub tab
• Check off Allow sites to set Cookies
• Check off "for the originating site only"
